Introduction

Kasugataisha Shrine (春日大社:Kasuga-taisha) is a shrine registered as a World Heritage Site.
It is the total headquarters of Kasuga Shrine which has about 1000 places throughout the country.

 

It is a shrine related to the ancient large powerful family "Fujiwara".

 

Kasugataisha Shrine is a shrine founded in 768.Kasugataisha Shrine is deifying Patron god of "Nakatomi".

 

After the death of "Kamatari Nakatomi" who played an active part in Taika Reform, he received Fujiwara surname. The descendants of "Kamatari Nakatomi" became Fujiwara surname.

 

There are many national treasures and important cultural assets of the country in Kasugataisha shrine.
